12 ounce bottle. Poured a hazy amber color with a .5 finger width tan head. The aroma consisted of a lot of caramel and apricot with other sugary fruit in the barkground. The taste was about the same as the smell with a lot of caramel coming through as the beer warmed. This was a very tasty beer, but was almost too sweet for my taste.

Mar. 2007 - Beer poured dark amber color, cloudy with one finger head which dissipated quickly. No lacing. Flavor was caramel, fruits and tons of candied sugar. Beer lacks the earthiness of the really good dopplebocks. Enjoyable, but not great for a doppelbock.

Bottle. Reddish amber colour with a white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee. Nice smooth flavour of caramel, very tasty and nice., but nothing overwelming.

The aroma on this brew is great. It has a strong malty scent. The great thing about the aroma on this beer is that it smells almost exactly like that smell that permeates the air as you walk up to any brewery.... with notes of caramel (respectively). The beer pours clear with a pretty dark red color, I’ve seen many hues of amber, oranges, and reds in beers, but this has a different hue than I have ever seen, very nice. Pours with a generous white head that diminishes but for a small head that sticks around. Taste is fantastic. Very malty, just very lightly fruity some good cherry flavors, it is however predominantly dry with some bitterness on the sides of the tongue. This glass is served a little cold, so the alcohol does show itself; this is pleasant enough as it is in no way overpowering. However when served at room temperature (as I have in the past) the alcohol is very much hidden. The palate is smooth with good carbonation feel in the mouth. Overall a nice beer, recommended if you can find it.

(Bottle) Pours a dark amber color with little head. Thick, malty aroma. Sweet caramel and solid toffee notes. Also some nutty undertones. Carbonation is on the low side, with a very good palate. Only slight alcoholic warming. A very good beer.

Bottle. Pours a light amber with a small white head. The aroma is mostly malts and grains. The taste is also quite malty and grainy, with some hops and light fruit flavors. Overall, a good beer.

[724-20071001] 12floz (w/ jerc, Radek Kliber). Hint of fruity floral hops aroma. Hazy, brown red body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Belgian yeast flavour is not too heavy, has some grainy dough. Medium-full body. Quite nice.
