Good, but not an amazing brew. Perhaps I’m missing something here. The nose is a rather uncomplicated bit of caramel/malt fluff. Sitting in the glass it’s a pleasant burnished brass color with the barest bit of a head. The flavor is a caramelled malty combo mingling with bread pudding. Very, very mild hops in the finish.

Pours a clean reddish amber color. Aroma is very interesting; hint of caramel with lambic complexity, biscuits, and malts. Taste is sweet and caramel/syrupy with some carbonation. Finishes off rather malty. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Fairly simple aroma. Sweet, sticky caramel with a hint of maple syrup. Pours firey copper with a thin white head that disappears quite quickly. Sweet initially, but finishes with a boatload of dry, grassy hops. Really, nothing spectacular. Medium bodied. Finishes quite grassy, earthy and dry.

[Bottle, Cellar’s Tasting] Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is quite sweet with a lot of malt and some caramel. Taste is also fairly sweet with the same malt and caramel and also maybe a hint of spice. Medium mouthfeel. A very solid doppelbock.

Bottle from JPDIPSO, thanks! Been wanting to try this brew. Thick amber pour with small off white head. Malty sweet biscuit aroma. The taste was the biscuity and caramely with some brown sugary notes.. Light dark fruit flavor show up now and then. Rich, thickand smooth on the palate. Really a soild. beer

Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. Dark copper-amber with a small off-white head. Nice aroma, full and sweet, with notes of caramel and dried dark fruit. Full mouthfeel, a bit sticky in the finish. Well-rounder flavour, quite sweet - caramel malt, brown sugar, a bit of chocolate, and a faint spicy note in the finish. I didn’t check the style or the alcohol percentage before I drank it, so I had no preconceptions, and really enjoyed it.

Courtesy of Gillard. Pours a clear deep copper with thin white head. It has a mild aroma with dates and beats and mild caramel sweetness. The flavor is sweet with creamy caramel and fruitiness from dates, prunes, faint beat sugar and hints of pepper. Overall pretty sweet.

Pours a clear amber, with a small off white head. Smells of sweet malts, caramel, candy sugar, and a little banana. The flavor was extremely malty, very syrupy texture, with some dark sweet fruits in there too. The flavor was quite standard, but big, thick, and rich on the palate. Maybea little overrated, but still a solid brew.
