Too bad we can’t get this in Michigan -- it’s really good. I was expecting an Oktoberfest, but got a barleywine/doppelbock instead, which was a pleasant surprise. Sweet, lots of hops and malt taste, good body to it. One of the best beers I’ve had in a while. pineypower (1108), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Pours out a very nice copper/amber color with not much of a head. Sweet aroma of some fruit and maybe some bread. Taste is very nice, not what I’d expect from a dopplebock, but none the less this was a very solid drinkable beer. Sweet fruit notes with some caramel. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Color is amber. I can smell fruit, malt and nut bread. Almost like banana nut bread. Tastes a little like it but with malts and a moderate alcohol bitterness at the end. Firemoose15 (542), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Pour was a darkened amber with a thin cap. Flavor was yummy, biscuity caramel and fruity taste. Palate was creamy and full. Overall very tasty. cssprain (16), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 7, 2006 Picked up on a whim, when I read on the bottle that it was based on an Oktoberfest brew. I actually ended up liking it more than most Oktoberfests; it’s smooth, flavorful, and had a very appreciable aftertaste. RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 4, 2006 This beer produces a nice hearty aroma of roasted malt. It is an amber colored solution that rests under a thick cream colored head. This thin beer has a mild biscuit taste that fades smoothly and slowly. sensesdry (4), Greenfield, Wisconsin, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2006 Wow what a beer. Found at Discount Liquor in Milwaukee, my old reliable friend. Very rich, warm flavor as its name would indicate, it finishes large and didnt let me down, even after the hype given to it by friends.
