Absolutely no lacing marks the glass. The nose is sweet, showing brown sugar, caramel, dates and hazelnuts, along with some vanilla and a fumy alcoholic burn. Flavors follow suit, caramel and candied sugar leading the charge, followed closely by vodka soaked fruit and some dark, earthy spices. The finish is a bit sour and out of place, with more alcoholic heat lingering on the tongue. Weak, lowly carbonated mouthfeel for the style. This one had a decent nose, but otherwise didn’t impress me one bit. In a blind taste test, I’d never peg this for a Baltic Porter. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

See-through mahogany beer with a small but creamy and lasting head. Aroma of sweet malt, dark roast walnut, dry yeast and cocoa. Flavor of malted milk ball and walnut. Well-disguised 8.5%. Medium body is soft and dry, with a thin mouthfeel. I love most malty brews, but never developed a taste for malted milk balls. HonkeyBra (1341), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Pours a chocolate brown with a small head. Aroma is dark fruits, and dried fruits. Flavor is chocolate, with some coffee and fruit notes. Strange oddly thin mouthfeel with a nice finish. Never had a baltic porter before, This is a good tasting beer, it’s just I wonder if its a good example of the style because of the thinness. Definitely could drink a few of these, though. bu11zeye (5470), Frisco, Texas, USA
