There are nice tastes there; honey, cloves, sugar cookie, bran muffin, floral hops... but all the tastes are so weak! None of these tastes can rise above the overwhelming backdrop of a watery brew. Impressive that it is so light, yet retains a multitude of delicate tastes, but it just didn’t sit right with me. Too thin bodied and insubstantial. A quality brew, just not my mug. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2005 Very light gold tint. Pours a thick, large-bubbled head but with little carbonation. Extremely pleasant malty-bready aroma with touches of pollen -- the best part of the beer by far. Flavor is a nice malt presence but doesn’t have much of a hop character as per the commercial description, though the hops do try to fit in near the finish bringing a slight citrus edge. Is very clean as per the style description --goes down as smooth as a can of protein diet drink. Being that this is technically a pale lager, I give it 1 extra Palate point for its smoothness being the best in its class so far. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2005 Semi opaque with a golden orange color. Aroma is sweet and floral; honey and mild hopping. Taste is sweet and yeasty, hints of lemons, honey and vanilla sugar cookies. Refreshing and light. Carbonation hits the palate up front, but then quickly backs off as the malts come in to play a more prominent role in sweetening and balancing the beer. Mild noble hop presence. Seems to have some sort of green tea characteristics, with the slightest hint of souring, but nothing more ever becomes of it. One of the better "light" beers I’ve had. I can see knocking several of these down in a summer sitting. Bigsky66 (148), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2005 Mild hops in the aroma and in flavor. Crisp feel to it and a light bitterness at the end. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 18, 2005 yellow/gold color with virtually no head at all, what there was ended up a a little bit of lacing around the edge of the glass. aroma is a little hoppy, a little citrusy. nice malty flavor at the top end, with some pepper taste on the very front. the tail bitters are strong, and linger in your mouth well after each mouthful. a decent body, more than some other beers i’ve tried in this family. crisp mouthfeel, very refreshing and drinkable if you dont mind the tail bitters. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2005 Orange, disappearing white foam. Aroma of bland citrus cleaning products with white peppercorns. Lots of golden malt. Creamed water palate, orange tang, thin body finish. A bit fruity, better than most pale lagers. Clean session ale. McKnizzle69 (89), Machesney Park, Illinois, USA

This was one of my favorites from this brewery. It had a good malt aroma and flavor. Hops were slight, but not overpowering. A good beer when you plan on having more than one or two.
