Jan 30, 2004 translucent golden color with a thin and very bubbly white head, honey like and somewhat hoppy aroma accompanied by a mild malt smell, malty flavor but quite light and watery with a bit of an estery taste, medium smootheness on the finish...ok beer

Jan 1, 2004 Bottled. Maybe I'm just losing my taste for lagers or something, but this seemed totally bland to me, slightly grainy and honey-sweet, but really I can't think of anything else to say. I like this brewery a lot though so I'll probably give it a 2nd chance, in summer when it will fit my mood better.

Nov 19, 2003 I found this to be a very pleasant, easy drinking beer. Maybe it isn't that exciting, but it's nice and malty, which I find very endearing. It looks nice: clear and light, and smells good: malty and mild. The taste is nearly balanced, perhaps just a bit more malty than it ought to be, but if you like that then you'll like the beer, as I do. One of the better offerings of one of the best breweries in the Midwest.

Oct 26, 2003 Pours a clear light amber with a quickly disappearing white head. Not a very strong, slightly apple, aroma, very thin flavor. Light on the palate. Im not even sure that this is beer the flavor is so weak. Look elsewhere.

Oct 15, 2003 Has a slightly wort-like aroma. Medium golden appearance with a pillowy white head with decent lacing. Has a bit of a spicy flavor to it with a buttery mouthfeel and aftertaste. Not the most refreshing beer, but full bodied and true to the Helles style.

Oct 12, 2003 When poured, the head was average size, creamy, frothy with a white head that consisted of fine-small sized bubbles that was mostly diminishing. The body was uncarbonated and cloudy with a golden hue. The nose was malty, fruity, sweet and a hint of citrus. The flavor was sweet and a bit acidic with a slightly tingly smooth mouthfeel. It was light bodied with good lacing.
