More fire orange than blonde. Very little head despite aggressive pour.
Aroma of sweet fruit, light noble hops, slight alcohol.
Very mild taste for a Doppelbock, but quite pleasing. Some fruit. Pepper and spice notes from the noble hops, but no bitterness.
Thick and smooth. Not as chewy as some Doppelbocks, but chewy nonetheless. Low carbonation.
Easier drinking Doppelbock than most. Great Spring seasonal.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 7, 2009 From the bottle, pours a clear light amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is lightly corny and mostly malty. Taste is a lot of malt with a cheap-beer-bitter aftertaste. Real easy to drink, light on the palate, but I can’t say this is my favorite of the Capital beers. brosen561 (20), Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2009 From stem glass. My first trek into a style I’ve wanted try. Pours a deep translucent orange with a creamy head, and just a bit of lacing. Has strong malt/caramel aroma, along with lemongrass. Very thick and smooth beer, with strong flavors of malt, cane sugar sweetnes, and just a touch of bitterness, perhaps not enough. Finishes very clean, just a little hint of bitter aftertaste. Overall, very nice--makes me want to try Autumnal Fire. thornecb (1757), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Sweet cookie and malt aromas. Thin with caramel upfront and a lasting alcohol burn. BeerandBlues2 (3203), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average, fizzy off-white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel), light hop (grass), average yeast (leaves, earth) with notes of plum and dates. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. marcus (1853), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2009 This light copper beer poured with a decent off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a hearty roasted malt flavor that starts off sweet, but turns more bitter and medicinal at the finish.
