Chicago trip. Monday 11:18. Bottle. Golden wet grain aroma. Wet grain cereal flavour. A little mouth drying. Hint of chocolate in the finish. Tried another bottle and it is indeed a high ABV Doppelbock. Huge marzen and alcohol flavour.

Bottle rating. Aromas of honey and clove, with some faint grassy hops in the background. Clear Amber color with a thin but creamy head. This is quite good. Not too sweet. Definitely malt driven but I like the flavor. Refreshing; it’s a winner and my first rating from Capital brewing.

Pours a clear golden orange color with a medium white head. Aroma of honey, wheat and faint floral malt hops. Taste is hinting on floral with a honey and barley presence. A light malty backbone. Nothing special here.

Straight form a 12-oz bottle, pours a golden caramel with a semi-creamy off-white head that stays around. Light aroma of simple sugar syrup, and grassy hops. Taste is sweet and rich. Honey is present with very little hop. It has a a semi-sweet finish. A full body doppebock, without the darkness. Alcohol is a bit high.

12 oz. bottle. Strong, floral, fruity aroma features lemon as well as berry scents. Tart, borderline sour smell. Noble hops and German-style malts make their presence felt in the nose. Pours a translucent, sparkling, deep, bright gold with a moderate amount of short-lasting white head. Produces extensive lacing. Practically glistens in the light. Looks great. Almost worthy of a full 5 for appearance. Malts dominate the sweet flavor, as one would expect in the doppelbock style. Some subdued dunkel lager-like flavors, which is surprising since this is appropriately called a blonde beer. Minor but unfortunate presence of the "beery" taste endemic to many pale lagers. Fruity flavors, especially raspberry and strawberry. Those flavors combine with the thick, full, oily body to produce a berry yogurt effect. Long, subtle, tasty, hops-dominated finish. Soft yet lively in the palate. Easy to drink for a beer so high in alcohol content. Capital Blonde Doppelbock is a high quality and memorable brew. Presently, I am being very tough in my ratings, so the 3.5 that I am giving this beer is quite a compliment. This is a fine product from a superb brewery that doesn’t get enough attention from the ratebeer community because it specializes in German styles that tend to be less popular on this site. Well worth trying if you can find it.

Heavy malt aroma smelled like light bread with a hint of sweet oats or grain. Poured an average, frothy, white, fully diminishing head. The body was clear and had a reddish amber hue. Initial flavor was sweet, as was the finishing flavor. Duration of finish was average. Full bodied and creamy beer.

12oz bottle pours a golden color with a faint head. . Flat aroma of carmel . The nose reflects the flavor with some light apple pie and a light bitterness. meh ... its ok.

Pours a clear copper color, with a bare trickle of head. No lacing, no head retention. Strong malt and alcoholic nose. Interesting malt flavor - honey, spicy, and even earthy. Very sweet all the way through, too sweet for me actually, with a spicy bite of hot alcohol in the finish. Medium full body, alcoholic warmth, and too slightly carbonated. I don’t dislike the beer, really, but two in a sitting just does not appeal to me
