12 oz bottle. Pours with a big head and an aroma of grain and corn. Nice and hoppy but also bland in the malt and very uninspiring.

Bottle courtesy of Philip. Had this before and didn’t rate it for some reason. Bright copper in color with decent white head. Aroma is full of bready sweet malt, (amberish flavor profile) with some honey and grass. Flavor much the same except the grassy hop character starts to dominate and turns it somewhat skunky. Just not my thing. Very cloying mouthfeel, again much like an amber. Just average overall.

(Bottle, gift from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=21222 target=blank>OhioDad, thanks Scott!) This was a clear light, very slightly reddish-tinted orange, with a thin off-white head that disappears to a film. Aroma of bread, honey and malt. Scant lacing. Mouthfeel smooth, light, a little syrupy as well as prickly. Taste is moderately sweet, honeyish, lightly malty, touch of bitter in finish. No alcohol apparency. On the light side for a doppel. Has an easy and pleasant feel.

Bottle. Poured a deep gold with a moderate creamy white head. The aroma was a rich and aromatic with hints of clove and a malty body. Sweet and malty finishing with some hop bitterness which lingers in the finish. Smooth and full throughout this is quite good.

12 oz bottle. Pours a copper-tinged gold with white head. The aroma is very grainy with an interesting sweet floral wisp, some caramel, and flat grassy hops. The flavor is much maltier than I expected from the appearance, a pleasant surprise, really. There is a prominent sugary sweetness in the grainy malts, underneath which is lawn-clippings. The finish is earthy with caramel, alcohol, and a faint spiciness that reminds me of sage. The aftertaste is dry and alcoholic. It gets a little acidic as I make my way down the glass, but is still rather drinkable.

12 oz bottle

Cherry, vanilla, hazelnut and caramel scents presented themselves to my nose upon taking sniffs of this reddish brown brew. A fairly active amount of carbonation created a nice visual when held up to the light. On my first sip, many of these flavors were present with the addition of cocoa powder. Later, there were hints of orange peels and honey, Overall, it was a fairly balanced first impression that came undone as it settled. By the time the flavors stop evolving it leaves a slightly cloying feel in the back of mouth. Still, this is a smooth, easy to drink creation that is well worth trying.

(Bottle) Pours a clear copper body with an average-sized creamy long lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grass, and malt. Flavor of creamy malt and caramel.

12oz bottles via trades with DavidP and Duane! - Thanks guys! - Pours amber with a short offwhite head taht fades pretty quickly to a ring but laces some from there on down. Light malty aroma of caramel, some grains, and just a touch of the alcohol. Flavor is nice strong malts, caramel, a bit of toffee, some fruits there too though. A little orange, some raisins, and some honey sweetness as well. Palate is medium bodied and almost sticky in the mouth. Clings to your tongue like honey. Not much carbonation. Very nice brew. Enjoyable!
