| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2005 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Aroma is very light. Faint sweetness with a light grassy hoppiness. Pours a transparent amber with a very small head that is quickly a ring. Very sweet up front with brown sugar, caramel, and light fruit. Light spice with an even lighter grassy hoppiness comes into the mixture in the finish but sweetness still dominates and lingers into the aftertaste. Aroma definitely hurts the final score. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2005 Bottle from Styles. Pours a deep copper-orangish color with a good sized white head. The head fades out to just layer the surface and leaves good lacing. Aroma is nicely hopped with spicey earthy hop notes. Flavor is very clean with subtle caramel sweetness and a generous dosing of hop bitterness which tends to be peppery. Quite nice. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2005 12 oz bottle courtesy of Oakes. Rich copper coloured beer with a thick white head. Sweet honey, caramel malt, some toffeeish sweetness and some breadiness as well. Flavour is very sweet and malty, but not cloying. Honey flavour and slightly vineous. A touch of biscuity flavour before the smooth clean noble hop finish, creamy texture. Nice complexity. Tubbfan (144), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jun 6, 2005 Clear appearance; no head (poured from a bottle) or lacing; has an aroma of maltiness, but not much; lacking body and color for a "doppelbock"; flavor wasn’t bad - sweet malt, but nothing more. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA

Bready/malty aroma, also slightly grainy. Much the same on the tongue. Fairly sweet, somewhat viscous, with a touch of alcohol on the finish. Fairly simple overall, but quite clean and easy to quaffe.

Smells of sweet malt and tastes of sweet malt. Can’t taste much of anything else. Alcohol hides itself well. Good beer for those of you who love malts! Bockyhorsey (2511), Mesa, Arizona, USA
