I like this dopplebock, not as sweet as the weizenbock. Pleasant high alcohol taste.

Pours a clear copper color, with a bare trickle of head. No lacing, no head retention. Strong malt and alcoholic nose. Interesting malt flavor - honey, spicy, and even earthy. Very sweet all the way through, too sweet for me actually, with a spicy bite of hot alcohol in the finish. Medium full body, alcoholic warmth, and too slightly carbonated. I don’t dislike the beer, really, but two in a sitting just does not appeal to me

Bottle rating. Aromas of honey and clove, with some faint grassy hops in the background. Clear Amber color with a thin but creamy head. This is quite good. Not too sweet. Definitely malt driven but I like the flavor. Refreshing; it’s a winner and my first rating from Capital brewing.

Amber with an orange glow. Slight nutty sweet nose. Very smooth with a touch of alcohol at the finish.

I took "blonde" to mean light, which is a misconception I know, but I was still surprised how substantial this beer was. Lots of caramel, lots of malt, viscous. Not bad, but for all the compounds that were clearly suspended in the liquid (evident from the mouthfeel and thickness), it didn’t taste like all that much. Sort of a mismatch to me. Still, not a bad beer, and I thought it OK. Color is a dirty-blonde amber color. This beer is pretty thick and had very little head. I don’t know the nutritional info on this beer, but pouring gave me the impression that it is a calorie bomb. Aroma is caramel but rather faint. Flavor takes a back-seat to mouthfeel, which is thick and full and combined with the flavor reminiscent of malt syrup. Still, it was good in that the maltiness intensity was clearly communicated, yet the beer didn’t taste grainy or overly cerealy. Not bad, and more than I was expecting. However, I was a bit disappointed in the intensity of flavor delivered, particularly given a very heavy mouthfeel. I’d weakly recommend. I bought this as a single from 3 Cellars in Franklin, WI.

Pretty orange color with a medium, creamy off-white head. The aroma and flavor were very sweet...bubblegum, bread, apricot, and alcohol. Medium thick consistency...long wet finish.

Copper with a nice off-white head. Sweet, bready nose. Quite sweet, with an excellent melanoid-y malt profile, hints of noble hops balancing things out.

Pours a coppery color. Little head. Smells of sweet malt and tastes of sweet malt. Can’t taste much of anything else. Alcohol hides itself well. Good beer for those of you who love malts!
