Bottle pours a dark amber color with very little head and lace. The aroma is of malt and slightly sour. The flavor is malty, sweet, very restrained white grape and apple, and just very nice. The palate is big and thick. Overall, another fine Bock family effort from Capital.

Bottle. Poured a deep gold with a moderate creamy white head. The aroma was a rich and aromatic with hints of clove and a malty body. Sweet and malty finishing with some hop bitterness which lingers in the finish. Smooth and full throughout this is quite good.

I hate the new capital labels; thank goodness it’s the same beer in those bottles. The beer pours perfectly clear with a deep blonde color and a thick white head. The aroma has some honey with some hay and earthy hops. The flavor has some earthy hops up front with some honey and a little saltiness. Some spiciness, generally pretty dry. Pretty nice stuff.

Bottle. Poured honey amber with thick white head. Powerful malt aroma, grass, honey, light syrup. Medium flavour with strong malt tones. Sweet finish with a hop kiss. Seek it in spring. Doesn’t tast as strong as it is.

got this in a trade and I cannot find my trading papers so thanks to the one that sent this. poured a golden with a small white head that didn’t last long. aroma sweet orange, malt, some alcohol. flavor got caramel, malts, the orange, a hint of honey with a slight amount of alcohol. not to bad. But I was a little surprised to see a dopplebock this light in color.

thanks to duane for the bottle, pours a hazy light brown color with a thin layer of white head. aroma is sweet and malty, with some yeasty tones coming up. the flavor is packed with sweetness, tons of malts and just abit of hops at the end of the mouthful. body is pretty full for a beer this light, a rich almost creamy mouthfeel. there is a hint of the alcohol at the tail end, and that is actually what lingers from the aftertaste. overall a very flavorful brew, but a little one dimensional (all sweet malts).

Very malty aroma. Poured with a nice head that faded to a light cover. Some lace. Nice deep amber color. Great body. Flavor is huge caramel malt. Hint of alcohol. Very good beer. Pleasant finish too. Had this bottle at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, WI USA. Occasionaly they have it on draft too.

Definitely didn’t think this brew was 8% ABV. Strong notes of malt with some toffee characters. Not a lot of hops but everything was pretty well blended. Decent brew.
