The colour is a pleasent golden yellow that has a bit of amber in it. It’s very carbonated. The aroma was malty, but not very distinctive. This is very tasty. There’s a hint of hops, but TONs of malt. It tingles nicely on my tounge and has a sticky creamy mouthfeel. There’s a bit of an alcohol aftertaste but is managable. Very flavourful and easy to drink. grant (792), Long Beach, CA/Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 25, 2003 Yeh, didn't realize it was this powerful, yet now it's a 750 of Cuvee Renee and four of these bad boys later and I'm glad I didn't. Happy Friday to me. A hazy gold medium amber brown. Little head to speak of. Aroma is maple syrup, a little cedar, vanilla, and pancakes (!). Body is thick and sneaky, carbonation is nicely done. Ethanol is very apparent; I should have known better. Flavor is a sort of burning abusive caramel, and various "extracts" used in cooking: hazelnut, almond (various nuts used in cooking, doused in alcohol). Finish reeks so much of booze that it nearly makes me cough almost every time. fakepurseninja (785), Washington, USA

Sweet malty aromas. I could detect the alcohol. Nice flavor - sweet with a mild bitterness in the aftertaste. You can taste the alcohol and dark brown sugar with a thin crisp finish. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours a light hazy orange color with a dense, very creamy, long lasting off-white head. Aroma has a very funky nose overall. Some caramel malt and Pilsner graininess come through early but then a funky olfactory concoction of a soured yeasty mango, cherry, light chocolate and mild vanilla aromas come through. Flavor has the same funk as the nose with a very early caramel malt but it quickly fades to a mango, cherry, vanilla and light chocolate with it finishing off fairly grainy. The body of the brew is pretty heavy, a very smooth sugary texture and very low carbonation as a whole. Aroma and flavor are very odd and really make a beer that is hard to categorize stylistically. Not bad but the combination of aroma and flavors that are present are a bit off putting for my palate.
