First of all, I have never seen such a light colored Dopplebock nor have I ever rated such a light colored Dopplebock since I've been rating beers. That said, this brew had a small white head with small bubbles that fully diminished. The lacing was fair and the body was clear with an orange hue. It had a light malty aroma and a hoppy aroma of citrus. There was no carbonation observed with this brew. It was bitter tasting from start to finish and lingered for a while after finishing this drink. The mouthfeel was smooth, light and somewhat watery.

Pours a translucent golden orange wtih a small white head. Aroma is sweet orange. Flavor is malty with some citrus. Overall aroma and flavor is hard to describe. But a decent beer overall.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear light orange color. Head was thin and off white. Smelled of grassy hops, subdued brown sugar, and husky grain. It was a little skunky as well. Sweet on the tongue with lots of fruit flavor including cherry and pear. There was also some cereal grain, skunk, and grassy hops. I’m not a big fan of this one. Average at best.

Chicago trip. Monday 11:18. Bottle. Golden wet grain aroma. Wet grain cereal flavour. A little mouth drying. Hint of chocolate in the finish. Tried another bottle and it is indeed a high ABV Doppelbock. Huge marzen and alcohol flavour.

Amber colored. Powerful aroma of malt. It has that standard bock flavor of sweet malt, but also some bitter taste in the finish. Heavy. Very good.

Floral, malt , amber, with a medium vanilla head. Harsh malt taste, not much bitterness. Alcohol seems obvious, ordinary.

Sample at the Eurostash tasting on 04/30/09: The beer is a mostly clear golden-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Caramel malt, yeast and fruit in the nose. Medium body that is almost syrupy at times. Flavors of malt, caramel and fruit with underlying yeast and very little hops. The finish is fruity with a toasty malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Decent light doppelbock, doughy malts, big bodied staying on the sweeter side. Felt a bit flat which emphasized the heaviness to it and sweetness of it. Pours deep gold, good clarity, with a thin white head.
