This was a clear light, very slightly reddish-tinted orange, with a thin off-white head that disappears to a film. Aroma of bread, honey and malt. Scant lacing. Mouthfeel smooth, light, a little syrupy as well as prickly. Taste is moderately sweet, honeyish, lightly malty, touch of bitter in finish. No alcohol apparency. On the light side for a doppel. Has an easy and pleasant feel. GreatLibations (1444), Last Supper, Arizona, USA

This brew is mildly sweet with hints of roast. Semi creamy effers are appealing. The finish is long and sweet with a touch of tobacco skank. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a light amber color with a white head. Aroma of light and dark malts, with some dark fruit as well. Taste includes a lot of rich malts, with some biscuit and caramel. Creamy, almost oily mouthfeel. A solid beer that is very drinkable at the same time. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

Capital Blonde Doppelbock is deep golden yellow, almost shiny copper, but not quite amber in color with a dense, foamy, and lasting off-white head. It appears to be lightly carbonated with larbe bubbles that race quickly to the surface. The aroma is mildly sweet with pale, toasted grain, some fruitiness, and a suggestion of alcohol. The flavor is strong and malty with lots of pale malt flavor and hints of honey, but it isn’t thick or heavy at all. Nor is it overly sweet. There is a very mild amount of floral hop bitterness just before the finish. Very good and very well balanced. The body of this beer is medium and is quite smooth. Wow! This is probably the lightest, easiest to drink Doppelbock that I have ever experienced. Quite unique overall as far as Doppelbocks go...

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Heavy malt aroma smelled like light bread with a hint of sweet oats or grain. Poured an average, frothy, white, fully diminishing head. The body was clear and had a reddish amber hue. Initial flavor was sweet, as was the finishing flavor. Duration of finish was average. Full bodied and creamy beer. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2008 12oz bottle (and #150!). Pours a crystal clear amber with a thin off-white head and good effervescence. Aroma is light, with a strong malt backbone supported by grain, spice, and a slight bit of hops. Taste is creamy and sweet, with an initial flavor of honey and spices giving way to a long malty finish (and an oh-so-slight hint of warming alcohol). Another great brew from Capital -- what it lacks in complexity it makes up for in execution and sheer drinkability. nuplastikk (1196), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2009 12oz bottle. Hazy, translucent brown-orange. Frothy head, that fades away after a few minutes. Big, rich, and malty. This is a pretty well done, would hold it’s own in Bavaria..well maybe. Big sweet malt is well balanced by some soapy hops. Full bodied enough to let you know its strong, but never harsh. Interesting fruity pungency. OK. HonkeyBra (1342), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Smell was MALT!, some fruit, some spiciness. The beer is very thick. The mouthfeel is amazing, so thick and sweet. An awesome take on the style, and a great beer nonetheless.
