Amber-copper in color, sparkling body with tight bubbles. A foamy head and splotchy lacing, looks very common. Doughy malt aroma reminiscent of crackers followed by a sugary apple scent. Malty and fairly sweet, it’s a sturdy brew with a faint bite. Airy and malty with flavors of sweetened bread and light caramel. Green hops help add some balance, finishes a touch grassy.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel, toffee. Golden appearance with thin white head. Taste is strong peppery alcohol, toffee and caramel. Boiled malt also comes through. Hops are just an after thought. This is a very drinkable beer with some very good base flavors. I donot agree with many on this site who claim that the body is too thick. Thinner body would not balance the alcohol as well.

Fairly strong wet dog aroma, not too off putting for me, I happen to love my dog. Caramel cereal notes like golden crisp. Can’t get enough of that golden crisp. Clear bronze, temporary head. Clean, toasted sugar, almost medicinal, herbal finish as if this beer is balanced with spruce in place of hops.

Bottle. Pours clear dark gold with a 2 finger beige head that results in spotty lacing. The nose is caramel and dark fruits. The taste is caramel malt, brown sugar and light earthy hops in the finish. Light-to-medium bodied. Decent Dopplebock.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden color with a thick yellowish head. Aroma is malty, with a bit of honey. Flavor is similar, somewhat yeasty as well. It’s notable that there is absolutely no hop flavor in this. The palate was light enough to make it very drinkable. Not a bad doppelbock.

Pour is a hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt and some hops. Spices and malt in the flavor with a bit of sugariness.

Aroma began with the butt of a skunk and ended with sugary malt. Nice copper pour with a 2 inch eggshell head that diminished into a small ring around the inside of the glass. Extremely sweet and syrupy with a hint of dark fruit and alcohol. For 8%, this seemed to have a lot of muster. Not a favorite but have had worse.
