Flavor is a malty, fruity taste, very strong. Alcohol is also slighlty present, but very pleasent. Overall a very nice beer! In my humble opinion under-rated. acertain (249), Seattle, Washington, USA

I took this straight from the fridge, so I didn’t get much of an aroma. Hint of fruit, almost like a wheat beer. Look was cloudy amber with a thin white head. Flavor is sweet and rich. Not a traditional dark double bock, but definitely rich and full. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2006 From a 12 oz. twist cap brown bottle with no bottled/freshness date.
Poured an ever so slightly hazy orangy bronze with a nice foamy off-white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Aromas of sweet grainy malts, a touch of caramelization, a light fruitiness and spicy alcohol.
Moderate carbonation and a softly crisp, smooth lightish medium bodied mouthfeel.
Caramelized and grainy malts, the right amount of sweetness, a pleasant fruitiness, apples and pears, spicy hops mixing in with the warming alcohol, and a dryish spicy and fruity finish.
Another great doppelbock from Capital, one of my favorite American breweries.

The beer pours perfectly clear with a deep blonde color and a thick white head. The aroma has some honey with some hay and earthy hops. The flavor has some earthy hops up front with some honey and a little saltiness. Some spiciness, generally pretty dry. Pretty nice stuff.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Clear copper color with a small head. Fruity nose. Rich sweet malty taste with whisps of grape and apple. Creamy mouth feel. Sweet malt finish with just a subliminal touch of hop. There’s a dopplebock brewed less than a mile from my house, Abita Andygator, that some beer geeks argue *can’t really be a dopplebock* because it doesn’t taste like one. Well, I’ve now found another doppelbock that’s very similar to Andygator: Capital Blonde.
