amber in color with nice head that never stops with fizzing like a tornado coming from bottom of glass, very clean filtered aromas of malts and hops malts are not roasted i guess to keep this a blonde tasteis of malts and alcohol a very nice american brew

Aug 20, 2008 Definitely didn’t think this brew was 8% ABV. Strong notes of malt with some toffee characters. Not a lot of hops but everything was pretty well blended. Decent brew.

Jul 13, 2008 Very good doppelbock. Nice aroma and amber color. Good flavor from start to finish with a slight hoppy taste. LIght palate finish that refreshes. Not one to take lightly, however. Best to have and enjoy at the end of a busy day.

Jun 13, 2008 My bottle says "platinum blonde doppelbock," but I assume it’s the same beer - clear, fizzy, honey-colored beer - fairly sweet aroma, with some light herbal character and a european hop bite underneath - honey flavor up front - a little too sweet - medium herbal and hop bitterness in the middle - the sweetness becomes prominent again in the finish, and a grainy flavor comes in - the alcohol is apparent at the end, but just enough to be warming - decent.
