Commercial Description:
This brown ale has a deep brown tone and an exceptionally creamy head which is derived from imported crystal malts. The crystal malts are also responsible for a rich, nutty flavor. Mild hop presence from imported Fuggles and Brewers Gold balance the unique malt combination

Pours a rich copper with a huge tan head that betrays the judicious amout of hops used. Smells pleasantly of hops, medium-toasted malts and caramel. Subtled fruitiness, subtle nuttiness, moderate bitterness, tasty inclusion of roasted malts. Clean, drinkable, but not distinctive. Closely resembles a Pale Ale and is less interesting than their Rustic Ale. Too well-balanced, lacks bite or zing. Holds its punches.

Pours brown with a medium off white head. Nutty aroma with a hint of caramel. Taste is a little watery, nutty and slightly sweet with a trace of caramel.

Pours a medium brown with a large but quickly dissipating beige head. Not much aroma to speak of, slightly nutty, slightly sulfury. Flavor is mostly nutty malt, with a little sweetness in the background. Sharp carbonic edge. Thin bodied, but lively from the carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a wispy head. Flavors of toasty malt, some nuttiness, a light sweetness, and some sort of harsh, off taste I couldn’t quite identify. Decent brown ale, but down my list of favorites.

Light brown, clear, with white head. Light toasted malt with mild caramel aroma. Light caramel and sweet malt flavours. Watery, with light bitterness.

Gently poured into a fluted glass and had an even split between beer and foam. The beer is the color of watered down cola. Head is tan and tiered. Aroma shows off the Fuggles. Feel is very thin with gentle effervescence and the remaining foam provides some creaminess. Some roasted flavors with sugar and caramel. A bit of rye bread, as well. Nice hop presence. The beer definitely improved as it warmed. Just a smidge above average.

Well, it’s definitely a brown ale, just not a very interesting one. Safe, middle of the road, generic brown ale. Nothing offensive here, but nothing impressive either.
