Perhaps I am not a fan of brown ales, they always seem to be a little lacking on flavor and palate. This on is no different, it does however have a nice clean finish and is quite inexpensive, which is always nice. I would recommend this beer, but with reservations. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2004 Appearance: medium golden brown. Tiny head, lotsa carbonation.
Smell: a bit of a sweet scent. Nothing spectacular.
Taste: Not the best brown ale I've had. It's not terrible, but not all that good. Kinda tangly bitter aftertaste I'm not crazy about.
Mouthfeel: Nice caronation feel, but a bit too tangy
Drinkability: I'm going low on this one. There are much better brown ales out there. It seems as if Capital did this one quickly and cheaply, so that they could say they have yet another beer. balke13 (156), MIssoula, Montana, USA

Has a great bready, malty aroma. Light, watery body with a moderate amount of carbonation. The flavor has bread, nut and malt notes. This is a pleasant beer, although I wish its mouthfeel was a tad heavier. A good, if uninspiring, brown ale.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2003 This fine brew poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated transparent, but hazy, light brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was nice with a big "Brown" dark malt nose. The wonderfully smooth mouthfeel was tingly from start to finish with a nice "Brown" beer finish. The flavor was roasted malt with caramel and a good amout of that "Brown" beer taste to it. A very decent brew I would love to have some more of.
