Commercial Description:
This brown ale has a deep brown tone and an exceptionally creamy head which is derived from imported crystal malts. The crystal malts are also responsible for a rich, nutty flavor. Mild hop presence from imported Fuggles and Brewers Gold balance the unique malt combination

Brown pour with an off white head. Aroma of malt and some sweetness. Flavor had a hint of nuts as well as a mellow malt character. Also slightly sweet. Not a bad brew.

Medium tan color. A decent head to it. Smells of malts and brown sugar. Quite bubbly. A tanned leather taste with some sugars and a bit of hops. Lots of sweetness. A medium mouthfeel.

Bottle, Lightly sweet flavor with a frothy off white head that has decent lacing. Light amberish brown in color. Light sweet flavor with and average duration. Very water body with soft carbonation. This is very similar in texture and feel as new castle but not as good.

This ale poured a dark but clear brown colour with a decent sized tan, almond coloured head. Excellent retention, decent lacing. It is semi-sweet and bready at times. Soft and nutty, with well integrated hops. Mouthfeel is relatively light but satisfying.

12oz, twist-off bottle, brown label. Dark amber/copper color. Thin white head. Aroma of toffee. Flavor of pistachio, Brittle without the peanuts. Not my favorite of the Capital beers, although it has a pleasant taste profile. Sweet mild flavor. Good balance. Light bodied.

Clear brown with caramel and nutty aroma. Tastes of nuts and roasted malts, more malty than hoppy. Decent for a brown ale.

3-16-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to ketchepillar
Amber brown with thin head and very little lacing. Smell is weak and doughy and not impressive - not much roasted maltiness in there. Flavor is bland and watery - nothing to it aside from a hint of malt. Not much character or depth or body. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated. Flavor reveals a little more malt as it warms - but still doesn’t do much for me.
