Commercial Description:
This brown ale has a deep brown tone and an exceptionally creamy head which is derived from imported crystal malts. The crystal malts are also responsible for a rich, nutty flavor. Mild hop presence from imported Fuggles and Brewers Gold balance the unique malt combination

Pours a crystal clear reddish-brown with a creamy white head. Nutty aroma. Very nutty initial taste with a healthy roasted malt presence. A touch of vanilla is evident in the background. Nicely carbonated with a medium body. Mild hopping in the very clean finish. This is going to sound weird, but Capital’s beers almost come off as "too polished" for my tastes--they’re always very finely crafted & I’ve yet to experience a bad one--but sometimes, the brews are almost too perfect, which takes away a little bit of the character.

Medium brown and clear in appearance. Frothy 1" head. Aroma is nutty, malty and has a slightly hoppy edge. Familiar Capital yeast smell. Flavorful, slightly hoppy, big nut-malt backbone. Smooth, with an edge. Nutty complex and nice balance derived from Munich, caramel and roasted malts. Finish is crisp and slightly spicy. This is a more assertive version of Capital’s Wisconsin Amber. A solid rendition of the style.

Pours a clear dark amber color, small white head. Aroma is malty, lots of sweetness in it as well as a little hoppyness to it. Flavor is toasted malt, lots of caramel and a little coffee/chocolate to it. Not bad.

A nice, chewy and rich brown ale. Smells like burnt popcorn, walnuts, and faint hops. Maybe a little light, and bit stale though. Taste is deep and nutty, with some wheat, nectar, and cream as well. Mouthfel is smooth, chewy, and creamy, very nice. A great brown ale, but nothing stands out that makes it truly special, although I was by no means unimpressed.

Nice Fuggly aroma, balanced by the sweet maltiness of the palate, coming out to play again in a finish that is like a light synthetic dry-hop (if that makes sense). Tastes of pecans and a dark nut that I can’t put my finger (or palate, rather) on. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth with perfect bubble balance. Dangerously tasty session ale, for sure.

This was a decent brown ale. Poured a medium brown with a slight head. Nice nutty aroma and flavor

Pours a medium brown with little to no head. All the capitals in my sample have little head. I even tried pouring one roughly. Aroma: sweet nutty malt with a hint of orange citrus. Tastes nutty with a caramel finish. Initially it is lightly sweet but it finishes slightly acidic. Body is light to medium, watery feel with a dry finish.

Fizzy off white head clear brown-red body. The aroma is lightly sweet and nutty. Fairly mild, as expected. The flavor is mild fuggles and lightly sweet nutty malt. Not overwhelmingly nutty or roasted orange rind like so many of these brown ales. Overal laccpetable though nothing special.
