Aromas of nuts, caramel and light chocolate. Tastes of pretty much the same. Semi-sweet and tastes a little like maple syrup. CaptainCougar (5517), Rockville, Maryland, USA

There’s nothing exciting here, unless you’re turned on by traces of maple, but this is a solid, enjoyable brown ale. It fades, somewhat, in the finish, but otherwise has the makings of a good session ale.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2002 Fizzy pour leaves a small head atop a translucent hazelnut body. Aroma slightly nutty but more fruity -- apricots? Little hoppiness. As Trap points out, its pretty thin, which you notice immediately and all the way through to a somewhat weak finish, but the flavor is overall decent, with some nice roasted grain, slight hint of hazelnut, caramel and maybe oats. Certainly not a bad brew, but a little below average from Capital and another confirmation to me that I serious overrated brown ales up until the last couple of years. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
