Dark brown beer with a thick creamy white head. Aroma is very malty and nutty, noble hops also feature in the nose, plums/fig fruitiness. Sweet toasted malt flavour, dark dried fruitiness and toasted nuts. Noble hop flavour comes through on the finish along with some lingering chocolatey notes. Well-constructed doppelbock. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Muddy chestnut brown colour. Aroma is big - plummy, molassey, medjool depths. Flavour is soft and sweet, less assertive than the aroma. It is a little bit earthy, toffeeish, with more dark fruits. Long, sweet finish mixes these themes. Suttree (2742), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Notes of rye in the flavor, as well as pepper and a hint of smokyness. Thanks to Jewedekind for the trade! SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

The head on this is good for a Doppelbock, average size, creamy off white.
Dark red hued body that had a nice fruity aroma. Some cherries and a touch of alcohol.
Just enough malty sweetness, medium body and a creamy mouthfeel. Good solid brew. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
