This rendition is really well balanced, which is what you would expect considering the base beer is Autumnal Fire, a superbly balanced beer. Good concentration and body, appropriate carbonation. Have to wonder if it would be better if more water would have been removed, but I shouldn’t be wondering. It’s good stuff. drewbeerme (2306), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Taste is silky smooth with a creamy mouthfeel. A complex, well made and pefectly balanced brew that finishes with a bit of oak aged, brown sugar and cherry flavor. Nice! Pours brownish-red with a small head and great lacing. Flavor is much stronger than aroma with the alcohol taking the lead followed by a chewy carmel back. Goes down remarkably smooth for 10%, but still warms. Palate is slick and smooth. Quite a tasty brew.
I had the base for this beer, Autumnal Fire, right before and it is an interesting comparison. The body is much fuller and slicker in the eisbock, but the flavors are subtle and more intricate in the dopplebock. They are both excellent.
