Pours a beautiful straw yellow with slight haze. Flavors of yeast and wheat come through nicely. Crisp, citrusy finish. cssprain (16), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 28, 2006 12 oz bottle courtesy of DavidP, served a bit above fridge temperature in a Flying Fish pint. Beautiful pour: unfiltered foggy light lemon-gold with a fluffy cumulous-cloud head of some stability....light sour whole wheat, lemon and faint spicing in the nose, touch of lime, might be beguiling if it were a bit more assertive.....very smooth, light and refreshing, crisp body with light sourness, beautifully balanced German yeast quality and faint floral noble hops, lightly citric and juicy at the front but becoming quite dry and grassy to finish....this is so gorgeously drinkable, with a touch of mineral saltiness at the end that, believe it or not, really adds to the thirst-quenching aspect....just amazingly bright, fresh, clean and beautifully, subtly sour. I’m astounded, this really is hitting me just right and I wonder at my disconnect from the previous ratings. No matter, one cannot reason with Love. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 26, 2006 2005 or 2006 bottle from StewardofGondor (quite fresh, whatever the case) consumed on 5/26/06.<!-- br -->Unfiltered (but settled) brass-copper body has a warm rose tint to it. Small bubbles rise in numerous streams throughout the lightly hazy liquid. White head is immaculately well-retained and creates a fair amount of lacing.<!-- br -->Nose reminds me of Oberon, moreso than I think any beer ever has. Not quite as much peachiness or tangerine as Oberon, but just a soft, sweet, supple wheatiness and a light nectarine and soft citrus zestiness. Strength of the aroma is quite high as well. Just hints of bubble gum sugariness and some light honey. Delicate, gentle and very clean.<!-- br -->Creamy, lightly sweet wheat soothes the palate as it glides along gracefully by means of the natural, tight carbonation. A touch of nutty caramel corn, with a dollop of vanilla syrup come quickly and then quickly are balanced by light peaches and dry nectarines. Herbal hops, but very soft and easygoing, not a spicy, challenging herbal nature. I keep thinking I’m tasting diacetyl and then tell myself I’m crazy. I think it is just the wheat creaminess, and maybe a touch of corn-like notes from the yeast. A little bit of dough sits on the finish as well, with that light bubble gum seen from the aroma. No alcohol noted. Not watery, with continually engaging carbonation and a very wheaty, soft, full body. When this style goes bad, it’s one of the worst there is, but done right, I’ve always found it to be one of the better, more refreshing styles out there. 4nolanz (18), South Carolina, USA

Was golfing with my Dad and brother and this was the only wheat and since I never tried it, and was in Wisconsin, I thought what the heck. I was pleasantly surprised and after 7 by the time I fininshed 18holes,(I might usually have 3 or so per round), I am convinced my play was aided by the Cap Island Wheats badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2006 Hazy gold color with a thin head. Aroma definitely smacks of wheat (I should hope so!) but also includes a bit of spiciness I’d expect from a Belgian ale. Taste is, well, wheat. Add a little more wheat, then a few bushels of wheat, and top it off with a dump truck of wheat. Oddly enough, in this beer, it is done well enough to not get repulsive. It’s like drinking a liquid wheat field. Whatever kind of hops are in here do not react badly and ruin the wheat taste. Nicely done. Ughsmash (4045), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 2, 2006 Bottled... 1st Bottle Run, December 2005. Poured a hazy, paler shade of golden with a towering, rocky white head. Nose was of lemongrass, banana, pizza dough, and an assortment of complementary spices... quite pleasant. Tart lemongrass gave a refreshing and crisp first impression on the palate, followed be delightful sour wheat, bananas, and a touch of caramel. Finish was tart, citric, and powerfully refreshing. Fine brew! awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2009 On tap. Pours a cloudy, golden yellow color with a thick layer of fizzy white foam. Clean, creamy wheat aroms with a hint of herbal hops. Moderately hoppy aroma for a wheat beer, but it has a pleasant underlying sweetness. Light bodied, heavily carbonated mouthfeel with a brisk, prickling acidity. Clean wheat flavors with an herbal hop bitterness to round out the finish. Very subtle fruity yeast esters, but what’s there works well with a soft, almost vanilla-like sweetness of the malt. Moderately hoppy, but the freshness of the hops adds nicely to the refreshing drinkability of this brew.
