Commercial Description:
A unique beer, Kloster Weizen is a true Bavarian style Weizen beer. Intentionally cloudy (hefe weizen) in appearance, this beer has a "spicy" flavor and is very refreshing. It is popular to add a slice of lemon to a glass of this beer.

Bottle. Strong, sweet, classic Hefeweizen aroma with clove and cinnamon notes. Clear gold color. Less haziness and not as much head as I would have expected. Very strong, tart, lemony, classic Hefeweizen flavor. The flavor is far from unique but still quite delicious. The power of the flavor relative to the standard of the style is what sets this beer apart. Smooth, crisp, and fizzy to the palate; extremely drinkable. This is one of the better beers from an excellent, underrated brewery. It is a very good example of the Hefeweizen style.

From a 12 oz. twist off bottle with a freshness date on the shoulder of bottle. Poured a cloudy, maybe more hazy, orangey golden with a large foamy white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing, very minimal amount of sticking. Hefe weizen aromas, bananas, lemon fruity, bready, a subtle clove, and a light spiciness. I thought the carbonation was a bit too high and malty crisp, thin for me, medium bodied mouthfeel. Pleasant, but average tasting, especially for a Capital brew, banana and clove, a light lemon, stale breadiness, a soft pepper spiciness and a yeasty, dry stale bread finish. Not bad, but not one of favorites from Capital, drinkable, but I stop at two.

Sour lemon dominates with hint of banana and peppery coriander spice. Interesting but not my thing. Try it cold on a hot day.

Thanks to FlyingBison for coming through on this. Like an American pale wheat that has a sourness, only more aggressive wheat and carbonation. This is not a smooth hefeweizen

Apricot colored pour with a creamy, yet shortlived, head. The nose is quite airy - yeasty and esthery. Sugary bananas, bubblegum, peaches and vanilla cake make up the spritzy aroma. Strawberries, caramel and honey-glazed malts make up much of the body. Nicely sticky and full. The carbonation is actually quite soft on the tongue until the finish, when the yeast dries nicely - giving a sweet, champagne-like fruity finish.

Golden yellow hazy body, white head. Aroma is strong with sweet malt — banana, dough and hints of earth and clove. The taste is sweet evoking flavors of banana with a hint of honey-lemon. Moderate carbonation and somewhat sticky mouthfeel. A moderate finish of tart lemon. I enjoyed this quite a bit especially on this hot, humid summer day.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with DavidP (thanks!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves and some citrus. Tastes of wheat, bananas, spices and citrus. Thinner body that is typical of this style.

Pours with the classic long lasting tall white head, over a hazy medium yellow body. Banana and fresh bready yeast aroma. Full bodied smooth delivery that is well balanced sweet malt at the start and tangy acidic wheat in the finish. Not to shabby.
