Nose was full, and consisted of bananas and bubblegum... with some wheat and other light fruits. Really enjoyed the flavors... lemony wheat, bananas, and lighter berries. Tingly and crisp mouthfeel.. lighter-bodied. Fruits and hay on the refreshing finish. Good stuff! Brigadier (1246), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Poured into my glass with a huge blossoming white head, leaving only a minute amount of liquid. It slowly began to recede until there was about a two-finger head left. The body was a murky blond color that smelled of bananas, wheat and fresh hay. The taste was similar with banana nut bread, fresh cut hay and wheat coming to the fore. Along with those were some subtle flavors of citrus and dehydrated banana chips. The aftertaste was dry, clean and semi-sweet. Overall this was an excellent and enjoyable session beer that I could drink on a regular basis. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2006 Been looking forward to this one. Pours a hazy golden color. Not too much head on it. The aroma is amazing and everything that you could want from a wheat beer. Cloves, bubblegum, wheat, banana. The aroma was going to be hard to follow, and the taste didnt quite match up, but still good nonetheless. Flavor was much the same with the clove and bubblegum being the most apparent. Lots of carbonation on the palate, which seemed like a bit much, but maybe I’m just used to drinking less carbonated winter beers? This was a much better than average wheat. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2006 2005 bottle from StewardofGondor drunk on 2/16/06. Bubble gum rises heroically upon opening, remaining powerful for a minute and then receding rather abruptly to allow a succulent note of sticky, moist, freshly prepared honey whole wheat dough. The malt overtakes teh bubble gum,, almost completely, while clove phenols lightly grace the nostrils, providing balance to the rich malts. A small amount of dry wheat finishes things, putting the coup de grace on this most deliciously rich and balanced nose of unyielding strength. From the nose, it seems to be one of the most malt driven hefes I’ve encountered. Appearance is all Capital, with the head immediately receding to a ring, and some light haziness. Golden copper colored body. Flavor does the nose justice. Rich, sticky honey and light graininess sticks all over the palate, while a touch of wheat sourness is felt in the back of the mouth, adding a most curious balance. Bubblegum and even light clove is apparent, further adding complexity. What is most notable, is the first flavor mix of bananas foster drenched in honey. Very rich mix of honey and caramel all told, while the wheat continues to build, further giving relief from the heavily sweet malts. Carbonation is moderately tight, but low, allowing the malt that much more sway. But between wheat, barley and yeast, I’d certainly say it strikes a balance. The sourness is quite authentic. The texture has an oily/slippery feel to it, almost creamy before it breathes and loosens up a touch. Carbonation could still stand to be a bit higher, but I’ve had the bottle now for a couple months. Wheat and a very light milky smokiness ligners on, while no alcohol is apparent. Fresh on draught this must be heavenly. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 12, 2006 Only a light haze to this golden/copper brew with a fast-fading head. Milky, smoky aroma with clove and cooked cabbage that fades. Metallic start to the flavor with overt sourness over a wheat background. Additional savory notes, but not enough to save it. Leaves a phlegmy hang in the throat after a fizzy finish. Not much character here.

Hazy golden yellow ale having a tiny white diminishing head. No discernable carbonation. Wheaty, fruity (banana) aromas. Light-to-medium bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and light clove, fruity, smoke flavors. Finishes dry with a pleasant wheat and yeast aftertaste. A nice, mild tasting wheat beer.
