Slight banana in weak aroma (I really didn’t get anything else). Some coriander in bland taste - I found this quite watery and flavourless - not off, just nothing there. No hops, just lingering banana notes. Needs more carbonation as well. Bah, I guess this is far better on tap. jerc (3911), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Why did I think this was from Washington DC? Oh well. Fairly clear golden body, with a white head that starts out well but diminishes quickly. Sweet fruity aroma has a belgian yeast quality to it. Sweet flavour with more muted fruit and malt. Some hops in the finish. More ’belgianness’ in the aftertaste. Average palate. Decent beer, but not much of weizen. Doesn’t seem to achieve the status described in other peoples ratings. Durf. GregClow (2496), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Slightly hazy orange-gold colour with not much head. Aroma is yeasty, a little spicey, with some white wine notes. Flavour has some citrus and banana notes, but they’re more subtle that I usually expect from the style. It strangely seemed to have some Belgian character. Not bad, but it didn’t knock my socks off. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Beer pours cloudy honey color with a bit too small for the style egg white colored head that mostly dissipates. Really enjoyable aroma, wheat, very spicy with clove a nutmeg, banana too. Flavor is right there as well with banana and plenty of spiciness in the flavor. This beer does indeed hang with the top examples from Germany, which is quite an acomplishment for an American brewer. Very good. Thanks Patrick. Gmku (250), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

Ever thing was like other hefe’s except it had a little more body to it, a little depth, probably the spicecs, not bad. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA
