I always find myself almost trying to climb into my glass when I smell this beer. Great spice, citrus aroma. Taste is spicy banana. Appearance is cloudy. Excellent beer, as most Capital beers are. I guess the flavor is a little stronger in the clove department. It is a bit more clear in color then many others of this style. I would recomend this but there are better wheats. It certainly is not bland though. Some of the bottles in my six pack seemed to have gone bad and had a terrible sand like flavor. My rateing is for the fresh ones baseballguy (246), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

A model of what a lighter-tasting beer can be, and a real find. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 24, 2003 Color is a light yellowy-orange, sorta hazy with a super white head of light froth that faded to fast, leaves some good patchy lace. Smell is lightly lemony, good amount of banana sharp and quick, yeast and wheat bouncing around off the nose. Taste is sweetly lemon and balanced in well of malt, a bit zesty but smooth and easy, quite nice, good impactful character. Feel is light and zesty clean, rough textured and slightly pulpy within the whole gulp. Good refreshing beer, zesty and smooth. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 28, 2005 A beauty of a beer. Smooth cloudiness, banana-orange coloring. Smells wonderful - ripe bananas, cloves, pepper and orange peel. Refreshing and well-rounded taste. Bananas come through again and are met with a vanilla essence. There’s a lemon sweetness to the finish. Another job well done by the expert German-style brewers at Capital Brewery. SpecialSauce (47), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 12, 2005 Pours slightly cloudy with dense and smooth head that disappears quickly. Aroma is lightly fruity, definitely banana and citrus. The flavor is extremely well balanced and delicate, very refreshing even as it’s coolness goes away. This beer feels tight and crisp in your mouth. Very nice overall.
