Commercial Description:
A bock beer with a beautiful, deep golden hue. Very smooth, this beer has great depth of character, and is an excellent beer to celebrate the end of winter and beginning of spring. Available February through April.

Dull light amber colour. Bready aroma with a hint of peppery alcohol. Flavour is much the same...it’s a fairly simple beer really. Now, maibock is supposed to be a two note beer, which is one of the reasons I don’t much care for it. There are two things I think maibocks should do - one is balance off the two elements. This beer does that. The spiciness and dryness of the alcohol is a great foil for what would otherwise be a fairly syrupy beer. The other thing I want is beautifully extracted malts. That’s a bit trickier. Lord knows I can’t do it myself. But Andechs, Ayinger...those Bavarian guys can. That’s why they are the masters.

Bottle: Orange golden, translucent, minor white head, soft and slow carbonation, seems viscous in there, with attractive lacing.   Bready aroma, soft caramel, musty like malts in the background.   Smooth malt flavor, semi-sweet, very easy to kick back.   Not terribley big in body, but fairly coating in the mouth.   Light finish, very soft raisiny appearance.   A very light example of a bock, but very solid.

They should have names this Missed It Bock! It is so far off in style of a Mai Bock that I can’t beleive so many people fall for the marketing hype. The flavor is so mild that I need a glass of water to satisfy me after drinking it. There is no body nor color to this beer either. When offered this beer, I reply by saying, no thanks, I’d rather have a beer!

Nice balance compared to most domestic lagers. Thing I liked about this one was that bitter taste and aftertaste of most lager was mild. Gold body color with a white foamy head.

Bottle poured gold amber with a good fizzy head. Aroma is malty but with a backgroung I found hard to place. Flavor is hopy with a bitter finish. Meh.

bottle. color is an amber orange without much of a head. mild malt flavor and a mouthfeel that is almost medium-bodied in nature. a decent brew, but nothing spectacular here to bring me back again.

Flavors were good. It had the taste of non-traditional grains (hay, oats, alfalfa) and sweet like an over-ripe banana. As it warmed up, the flavor improved. Very tasty, and I usually don’t like Maibocks. Aroma was pretty hard to get, but was more pronounced as it warmed. Perfumed hops and sweet malts. Appearance had a rocky/creamy head that disapated fully within 5 minutes. The body was a clear reddish color and actually had pretty good lacing. The palate was very smooth and appealing.
