Malty nose, light copper, a small cream coloured head. Flavour has fruited malt, almost sour tasting, trace of bitterness. Very full bodied, given that it’s 6.2%, quite a dry finish. Intriquing little example. Driftwood6 (214), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2007 In bottle. Thought it was a little light in the body compared to the various German versions I’ve tried. A little drier (not as sweet) as well. A bit more of the "bock" body would help this beer. cbkschubert (2027), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2007 (Tap) Pours a light amber color with a foamy white head. Aroma is of dried fruits and sweet caramel. Taste is slightly hoppy, with some earthy notes as well. This is a pretty good beer. A little more body could really add to this beer through. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2007 There was a light haze to this beer’s coppery/amber body under a small yet compact off-white head. Malts in the aroma are pleasantly caramelized with a hint of flora and a finish of grasses. Palate provides a rather silky mouthfeel despite it being somewhat flat. Alcohol is a little forward in flavor. A malted sweetness lasts despite a grassy hop finish along with a peaty note that hints towards whisky.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Decent looking beer. Soft caramel malts are prominent, with a bit of candy sugar. Very smooth and sweet. Medium bodied, with minor fruit notes like apple and cherry. There is a bit of spiciness toward the end, which may be the hops poking their heads out. Overall easy to drink and smooth. Good session beer. Capital never lets me down.
