Commercial Description:
A traditional marzen style beer with a gorgeous firey dark orange color. Oktoberfest emphasizes a rich malt character. A great way to fortify oneself as the nights start to get cooler. Available August through October

Clear amber body with a lovely frothy white head. Nut butter aroma with some apple skin tang. Nutty, toasted malt flavor with a leafy, apple juice finish. Somewhat zippy carbonation which detracts a bit from the beer. Again, a well-made beer from Capital that I feel that I should reall like but don’t.

Clear amber-orange with fluffy dense white head. Grassy, malty, sour, & hop spice aroma. Medium hop bitter, grassy sour, & medium caramel malt flavor. Hop and sour subside a bit as the beer warms -- begins to taste more like a fest. A little on the hoppy side for a fest but within style. Medium body & palate appropriate for the style. Not Capital’s best and yet still quite competent.

Bubbly. Oh, yes bubble. That’s what really got me about this one -- the complete lively texture. Had this draft at Angelic brewing when they told me they no longer brewed beer. Slightly bitter with some malt flavors. Overall, decent. Not great.

12 oz Bottle from Armanetti’s, Mundelein, IL. Clear amber having small creamy white head with excellent lacing. Light sweet malty aroma with hint of spice, molasses, fruity esters and toffee. Soft carbonation. Medium-to-full bodied with starts with hint of sweet malt, middles on dry side, and finishes with dry bitterness. Some echoes of Capitol’s Autumnal Fest and Capitol’s Wisconsin Ale but milder, drier and more bitter. An excellent Oktoberfest beer.

Nice clear bodied orange color with a meium white head and some lacing. Mostly caramel malts, but there’s a really nice and unexpected pepepry flavor from the middle to the back that helps keep the finish dry.

On tap in Madison before a show a few days ago, rating from memory. Slightly fruity aroma with a nice malty base and some spices. Beautiful, brilliant orange color with a thin white head. Again, much like the aroma, the flavor is a mixture of caramel with a slight fruity/spicy twist. I liked it, but haven’t had many Octoberfests to compare it to.

Courtesy of Bockyhorsey. <P> Sweet aroma. Fruit (grape dominates) and caramel malt. Orange with little head. Malty fore followed by a grape heavy middle and finish. Fruit smoothness lingers int he aftertaste. This beer has a fantastic aftertaste. It tastes better 5 seconds after you swallow than it does in your mouth.

does have a gorgeous firey dark oragne color, but after that it is a disappointment. I expected more spices, but this is uninteresting. Taste like dust at the bottem of the cheerio box.
