| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 16, 2008 Pours a transparent dark golden brass color with a wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of slightly biscuity pale malts with a touch of caramel and Belgian yeast. Body was about average, somewhat thin for a Belgian strong, with some mild caramel sweetness and doughy yeasty flavor with a touch of fruity esters. FInishes drier and slightly more bitter. An ok Belgian strong ale, but needs more body and sweetness. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Bottle thanks to Ughsmash. Clear gold colored body. Faint sweet candy sugar dominates the nose, body is thick and oily, and flavor is mild toast/crust, with a strange note of "fresh mold", nuts, and sugar. Strange, not exactly good, and the alcohol picked up at less than 7% was unwelcome. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 29, 2008 Dark golden, fairly thick looking liquid. Moderate, stable light ecru head. Quite sweet in aromas with Pale and lightly toasted malt, hints of bananas, spicy yeast and mix of floral and herbal hops. My interest is piqued, but there is no big hook, pleasant seems to fit. Light sweet malt start that spills into the middle. Middle to finish has mild spice of cloves and cinnamon, A light nearly pine-like bitterness and dry yeast profile. Hints of alcohol. Light banana pith in the linger. really dries things up. Thick in feel, but enough zip to help lighten things up. A few lager qualities once again... Kirby does like his lagers, and come to think of it so do I. Some light toasty malt return real late in the linger. Strong effort. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2008 Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that has some good retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of sweet golden grain malt, a touch of candi sugar, banana and plenty of vanilla. Taste is full bodied, thick and smooth with flavors of golden malt, cloves, cotton candy and banana esters. Finish is thick and almost syrupy with a light banana ester aftertaste that slowly disappears but leaves some alcohol character. Ughsmash (4074), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Bottled. Poured clear, brilliant golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up a delightful blend of bananas and cloves with pale malt sweetness.. orange zest and floral notes tail. The flavor carried basically the same stuff.. pale malts holding up a heavy yeast impression with toasty bananas, cloves, and black pepper.. a little orange rind on the back and through the spicy finish.. a touch too spicy/hot, but it still held as refreshing. Medium-bodied on the palate and sweeter with warmth.. plenty of zesty yeast throughout.. overall a crisp feel. This was tasty. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2008 12oz bottle. The aroma was of bread dough, clove, and light husky grain with a hint of banana. Poured a clear light orange-gold color with a white head. Only a bit of lace was left behind on the glass at the end. Light bodied and dry with moderate carbonation. I tasted clove, honey, and subdued citrus fruits (lemon/orange). Light citrusy tartness emerged at the end. Pretty good, but would like to try an unfiltered version.
