Commercial Description:
This is an American Amber Ale. Cloudy from the yeast, this moderately rich ale is just bitter enough to balance the sweetness of the malt. Grain from Washington Island is used in this brew, but it is not the dominating malt.

12 oz bottle from Steve’s in WI. Pours a clear orange with a thin off-white and soapy head. Not much in the nose. A touch of malt. Spritzy carbonation and lackluster thin flavors. The malts taste a little old and stale. Touch of biscuit, and toffee, with a finish of faded hops that are lemony and remind me of lipton tea. Not so good.

Aroma: Malts and sour milk. Appearance: Clear medium amber with a red tint. Modest off-white head, spotty lace. Flavor: Strong, pleasantly nutty malt profile. Other components are sour milk, sun tea, and stale biscuit; they clash messily. Palate: Sharp carbonation, a little sticky on the finish.

Dark amber colored body with a very lightly tinited tan white head. The aroma was peanut butter and soft caramel candy. The taste was bitter, over steeped tea along with some bad toffee. There was also a little bit of cherry sweetness. Capital needs to stick to lagers.

Pours an amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is biscuity malts. Taste is about the same. Nothing over the top here. I at least give Capital credit for re-doing their labels!

Pours a light amber color with thin off-white head. Aroma and taste are off rich biscuity malt and faint hop notes. Nothing spectacular about this one.

12oz bottle courtesy of mother in law. Aroma of sweet malted grains. Golden body with white head, some light lacing. Flavor is standard beer grainy and bitter. Has a mild sweet sticky malt aftertaste. Good brew if you just sitting around playing cards.

Crushed with Jakebra. Something about ambers just doesn’t agree with this guy, aight? Only hoppy ambers are good for the soul, and this one is still malty, and the finish is stale.

A clear honey colored brew with a long lasting light tan head and plenty of visible carbonation. Aroma of grain and light caramel. Feel is moderate at best and is well carbonated. Flavor offers some floral notes and caramel. Tart grapefruit underneath. Some lima beans. It went down easily but just wasn’t very memorable.
