The aroma picked up soft toasted caramel notes with crisp leafy accents.. came across as a weak marzen. The flavor had the same toasted caramel notes surrounded by light grain sourness and some leafy bitterness.. short finish left nothing interesting. Lighter-bodied on the palate and watery at times.. OK balance, but uninspired feel overall. cbkschubert (2015), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

After a long session at Olin Park I needed to clear some room in my suitcase. Choosing something that went well with the pizza I popped open this as a nightcap. As I suspected it was solid but nothing special. I would drink more though because it might be one of the better made amber ales on the market.
Aroma / Appearance - The transparent bronze body hints at the simplicity of the beer within. Carbonated with no head it smells of whole wheat bread, cheerios and that sugary glazing on Krispy Kreme donuts. Simple and effective it does exactly what it sets out to do.
Flavor / Palate - Chewing gum (the non sweet kind) forms an unusual interplay with rye toast and honey. Above average for the style it is the sort of thing I’d pick up for a day of grilling brats if I were still in Wisconsin. Should you find a bottle it is worth checking out especially since the risk is low (about $1.40). doubelknv3 (568), Illinois, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2008 An OK selection from a very good brewer. It tastes like a fairly standard macro lager to me. On first taste, it was fairly sweet. There was no particular characteristic in taste or aftertaste that distinguished this beer. They say it is made from local grains, and that is probably all that differentiates this brew from the hundreds of other similar brews out there. There was a definite grainy after taste but nothing that I would consider distinguishing. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA

An off-white head. The taste was weizen bockish with nutty caramels and grassy hops. I thought it was strange and in no-way a traditional American Amber. I was confused by this beer and somewhat disappointed.
