Like the flavor, lots of soft malts asserting themselves as opposed to a more Prima-esque hopster. Bit grassy again, good hops at the end, really well-balanced stuff. Rather full and chewy for a pils, the malts really kick some butt in this one. I like this one better than most people do, apparently. drywallman (230), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2005 This one displayed a quickly dissipating head in the pilsner glass, down to just a milky white layer across the top. The beer displayed was a dark golden color. Initial nose and tongue impression was good malt dose or sweetness with a grainy feel. This was quickly followed by the mild to a building grassy hops effect with a slight tang. This was expected out of a real pilsner, and makes this a good warm weather beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2005 Straight golden with a medium-sized white head that is mostly diminishing down to a fizzy, milky froth. Aroma of honey, straw, and dry grass. Mildly bitter initially, very earthy and grainy, and turning ever so slightly sweet in the middle. Finish and aftertaste are mildly-to-moderately bitter. Medium-bodied, slightly milky texture. A very solid pilsner. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 17, 2005 Mild, translucent golden hue with a few wisps and bubbles for a head. Aroma is very reserved, with bread, mustard powder, lemons and sourdough breaking through. Flavor is rustic. Sourdough bread crust and lemon herb butter add to a cast of horticulture anomalies: oregano, thyme-like bitter mustiness, and corn meal. A graininess that reminds me of Keebler pecan sandies shortbread cookies. Dry and coarse with the bitter tinge of a standard pilsner. Oakes (8142), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Slightly hazy golden colour. Grassy, slightly earthy hop aroma with backing bread notes. Sweet front, lightly bitter finish. Straightforward grass and bread combo. 5000 (2634), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Bottle: Translucent yellow, orange tint, small white soapy head, no carbonation, no lacing (cap seemed to come off rather easy, this beer not being the first from Capital, leaving me to believe this one has gone flat. Lets see where it goes...). Very soft grassy nose, slight underarm. Still remains rather malty on the tongue, albeit very still. Seems to have been okay, but I think it still deserves a rerate. Otherwise the body of this one is rather big & chewy for a pilsner.   Mouthfeel is... well, rather flat.   Finish is a bit muttled, and the only sign in the flavor that something might be amiss. It also feels as if its more than just 4.8%.   Problems with the capper maybe?

Just a borning run of the mill pilsner, just not all skunked and corn tastin though. I could drink these all day though. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
