| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2006 Classic session beer. Far from my favorite style but really enjoyed it. Crisp, clean, refreshing with long enjoyable aftertaste that surprised me. Nice fizzy bubbles, and peppery/grassy/husky/bready yeast thing going on. Bockyhorsey (2551), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 17, 2006 12oz Bottle. Had a bitter and grain aroma. Hazy golden color and white head. Flavor was bitterness and grain and somewhat of an aluminum can. An alturnitive to your average swill but will cost you more for the sixer. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2006 This one sets up a tall golden column filled with microscopically small bubbles that race to become part of a thick meringue-like white head.
Nice earthy hop aroma.
Lightly bitter, the hop flavor comes through as well, and is all balanced with a smooth malt support. Crisp smooth, refreshing. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2006 Thanks to Beerdrenched for picking this one up for me. Pours clear golden with a white soapy head that gives decent lacing. Aromas has husky grain and light spice - fairly clean. Medium body with moderate softer than normal carbonation for a pils. Initial taste is husky malt with a touch of sweetness, but mostly dry. Then a sourness comes through, but is taken over quickly by spicy hops and grassy touches. Very enjoyable pilsener. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with a minimal white head that did leave a fair lacing. The intial taste of hops is nice and does a good job of leading in to a faint herbal taste. Overall a good pilsner beer but I’m not sure why they called it a special. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2006 2006 bottle (I assume) from StewardofGondor, consumed on 4/19/06. Large-bubbled white head is aggressive and slow to recede, piling itself atop a lightly chill-hazed golden, old brass colored body with plenty of tiny bubbles. Fair amount of lacing, and sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is saazy and even lightly herbal-plant-like with something like Norther Brewer or spalt. I’m pretty poor at distinguishing low AA German hops, so my apologies if I’m dead wrong. Light dough and yeast on end asserts a balance. Medium strength to the aroma, with some funky/sweaty notes that I just can’t attribute wholly to Saaz. Some dry, toasty, sauna-smelling grains add to the crispness. First sip and I get a rush of spicy, peppery, freshly cut herbal hops. Sweet honey nips at the palate, but is wisked away on a flurry of fine carbonation and hops bitterness/spiciness. It fizzles about (the peppery-herbal hop notes), like a sparkler flaring up before going out, upon a light plant-like and graham cracker (dry) background. Crisp, with pleasantly tasteful carbonation on the end. No alcohol, no flaws, near perfect attenuation. Could use some more malt dryness, as the mouthfeel is perilously near to round (were it not for the carbonation), but the malts should be a little edgy/biscuity, regardless of carbonation.
