detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Mar 3, 2007 Updated: Mar 4, 2007 Pours a lightly hazed gold, initially producing a thin head of white foam. This recedes fairly quickly to a film and ring, but leaves behind decent splotchy lacing when you tilt the glass. Mild malt in the aroma, with just a hint of smoke. No smoke is found in the flavor however. This is a crisp and clean tasting beer, though just a bit on the the sweet side for the style. Excellent herbal spicy hop bitterness in the finish. And aftertaste. Smooth, subtle, and tasty.
LtJudge (355), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jun 7, 2008 Pours a pale yellow color with a white head. Aromas pf pepper(?) and grains.Nice balance of malts with a hint of hop flavor. Not bad. Petrucci914 (340), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 2, 2008 Thanks to the bro for this one.
Pours a clean and crisp pale yellow with a medium frothy white head that fades quickly. The head resurrects itself after every pull you take - nice! Aroma is slightly skunky, grainy, with bits of fruit like pear and lime. Taste up front is crisp, grainy, and slightly bitter, with a slight sweet and fruity finish. I’m not a big fan of Pilseners but this is the best one I’ve had, and can see myself sucking some down after a hot day. phishpond417 (1418), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Apr 24, 2008 I’ve had this several times at the brewery and in bottles, brewery is where it has tasted the best. Pours a light golden colour, small white head. Aroma is particuarly grainy, lightly hopped and a little pear. Taste is lighter, but satisfying, nothing overly exciting about this one. unclemattie (1584), Georgia, USA Apr 17, 2008 12oz, twist-off bottle, Red label. Light haze. Bright yellow, thin white head. Musty basement smell, spicy hop aroma, and breadiness. Flavor of moldy lemons and some bread. Finishes with a spicy hop flavor and some yeasty mustiness. jbuzz (465), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 11, 2008 Capital night at Three Cellars Milwaukee.
Just your basic drinking pilsner. Good but nothing great. The most average beer in Capitals stable.
