Smells of fruity hops dominate. Taste is very hoppy with a ton of citrus. The high 9.5% ABV is very well hidden. Very tasty beer is fairly good and worth a try. Maybe a hint of fruit. Color is a hazy copper. Light malt flavor. Bock-ish in style. Lots of malts and a bit of honey. Finishes sweet and malty with a nice alcohol presence. OK but nothing special. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Somewhere between a paler maibock or so many of these ’imperial pilsners’. Pear juice from fruit salad can. Very drinkable. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2008 12oz bottle -- a pleasant surprise from a 12 bottle sampler. Pours a cloudy and effervescent copper-amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is relatively light but pleasant, with notes of grain, syrupy hops, caramel, and dark fruit. Taste is medium bodied, with a flavor of roasted malt, dark fruit, and syrupy hops building into a crisp, strong finish of caramel, molasses, and warming alcohol. A wonderfully pleasant and drinkable strong ale. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Fat, caramellish aroma with some aroma hops. Rather full-bodied with sweetish caramel and fruit - some overripe fruit even. Also has some burned caramel. Rather bitter finish. Neat. 040408 Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

Pours a bright, hazy golden-orange with a thin, wispy, off-white skin. The nose is comprised of fruity notes of apple and sweet malt. Medium-bodied and slick with a lightly dry finish. Round malt up front with notes of peat and dark, fruity malt; nice. This is a nice, warm, fireside brew. It isn’t extraordinary, but I rather like it. KimJohansen (7135), Copenhagen V, Denmark
