12 oz. bottle generously shared by Gregis. Pour is slightly hazed cheddar cheese orange [TM] with an off white head that falls really fast. Visible carbonation bubbles. Aroma of sweet biscuit maltiness. Some peaty earthiness in the back of the nose. Nice aroma. Taste is peaty and scotchy, with the biscuit malt sweetness. All is really well melded and integrated, nicely done. Thanks for sharing Greg!

Bottle shared by Greg. Hazy copper with a khaki head that fades completely. Creamy, oxidized, malty aroma. All toasted malt flavors as well. Full body. Average carbonation. Dry finish. Decent.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a fully diminished white head. Woody and dry fruity aroma. Sweet flavour with a light fruity and woody note into the finish. Somewhat flat in flavour and almost towards oxidised.

a tea-colored beer, with a slight, quickly disappearing head. lots of cireus and pine and hops in the nose. the flavor follows suit with citrus and hops. there is a hint of alcohol warmth in the finish. a full-bodied beer. very enjoyable.

2007 bottle. Very cloudy copper pour with little to no head, but a foam ring that sticks around. Candied apple and cinnamon flavor up front becomes a little gasoline-like and dizzying in the middle. Heavy on the booze. A bready finish. Aroma is of belgian yeast and fresh dough, and a weird tomato sauce kind hop note. A bit tough to drink, but still, this would be quite nice if it weren’t for that painful fusel note.

On tap in the Horse in Plow Kohler, WI Pours clear amber-orange with very little carbonation. Light head that quickly disappears into a haze across the top. Aromas of Caramel, vanilla and dark fruit mask the alcohol very well. Malty structure with a mild hop finish highlighted by caramel and vanilla. Hints of Bourbon appear as it warms. Spicy smooth mouthfeel. Not too much alcohol burn, just right. Very warming. This is a room temp or slightly cooler beer for sure. So much is masked when it is cold. Great cold weather beer. Alcohol can really creep up and kick you in the ass with this one. Another fantastic offering from Capital Brewery.

Dull orange pour; lifeless, skirting foam. Aroma of oranges, cream, and vanilla in a burst of smooth sweetness give way to a heated fruitiness of apple and pear. Brown sugar glazed, with bits of berry and plenty of dry alcohol that tends to be rather sterilizing. Flavor is full of Capital’s house character that always brings to mind the subtle, sweet warmth of British and German malts; while rich with molasses, caramel and oily pecan tones, it’s amplified by heat a bit beyond its reach. Slightly grassy, while bursts of that apple, pear, and maple syrup character of blonde dopplebock continuously clammer against the heat to keep it interesting. Medium bodied, crispy, and hot in the mouth; finishes with some creme brulee crust and blonde cake batter, like a tangy slightly watered down bourbon in its dryness at the end. Likeable; a solid effort from a reliable brewery.
