Commercial Description:
One of the most unique beers brewed in the United States. A fine, almost nutty flavor complimented by a smooth hop character that combine to make excellent drinkability.

Clear amber orange with a scant white head, a few traces of lacing. Faint grain aroma. Initially seems very dilute on flavor, but a toasted nutty or tea resin flavor develops, finishing with a bit of cider. Thin body.

On tap at the Malt House - Man...I remember when Capital used to rock. Now they’re just...boring. I’ll give the Wild Rice points for trying something new, but the execution is still...boring. It’s an amber pour with a white head that smells of sweet, syrupy fruit with a little bit of sour. At least the smell caught me off-guard a bit, but it just feels artificial. The taste is fairly sessionable with some sweet malt and a bit of hops. I have to really try to taste a bit of the wild rice, and the finish is an odd apple taste. It’s syrupy and smooth--again, too artificial tasting. So sad, Capital...I hope one day you return to awesomeness.

Thanks bro for sharing. Pours a light golden color with light whispy white head that fades quickly. Aroma is of floral hops with a pungent rice taste and musty aromas. Taste is sharp floral hops, light malt and mustard pretzels. Seriously...mustard pretzels. It’s a strange brew, not bad, but not something i’d drink again.

Pours a crisp golden color with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is light lemon, some almond nuttiness, mustard seed, and pretzels. Taste is crisp and lightly hoppy up front and then finishes like honey mustard pretzels. It is amazing how close it is to those pretzel bites. All right.......just weird.

Golden pour with thin white head, lots of carbonation. Nutty, fruity aroma. Flavor is lightly bitter, some spice and rice. A bit of fruity, somewhat earthy, but mostly leafy. Light mouthfeel, with lots of carbonation and kind of stale flabby finish. Decent summer seasonal, but very drinkable.

Odd smooth nuttiness which I’m guessing is the wild rice. As is typical for Captial brews, just not alot going on here, quite bland and a bit thin in body. Aroma degrades into some odd vegetal smells the further you get into the glass. Interesting idea and very unique, but low on execution.

Unique beer- poured a light amber-golden colour with a small off white head. grainy midpalate. Initially its sweet with a soft touch of spice in the finish. Aroma is indeed a little skunked, but tolerable.

22-Nov-07 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) Mildly sweet and honeyed with a hint of caramely malts, but the overall flavor is toasty grains and a rice/cardboard finish. Sweet honey, dry grain and paper in the nose. Medium bodied and gently carbonated, but coats the mouth with an oily and starchy pastiness, leaving the palate feeling unrefreshed and tired. Pours with almost no head, just a slight sheen and thin ring. Very hazy in appearance and amber in color, though most of the haze clears up as the beer warms. Different for a US micro, but just not all that enjoyable and difficult to muster any
