Aroma of multi-grain, sugared breakfast cereal, toffee, and a touch of marzipan. Taste is lightly carbonated, light to medium bodied, sweet and creamy caramel with a very light sweet hop finish. The aftertaste is complex with a good mix of sweet flowery hops and marzipan. Pretty impressive for a year old brew. BDR (2167), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Excellent rice nose on this hazy brown store. Very well done wild rice nose with fresh nutty flavor from the rice. Ughsmash (4060), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2007 Bottled... summer 2005, I believe. Poured a clear coppery brown with little head retention. Aroma took a turn for the better in my opinion.. had a sweet, slightly-oxidized old ale quality to it.. along with some brown rice accents. Flavor was sweet with grainy cereal notes, caramel, toffee, and a pinch of dried sherry.. brown sugar and faint floral bitterness ride out the finish. Lighter-bodied and a bit grainier than I’d like. This was a tasty brew that I would like to try fresh. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Consistent if not spectacular. A typical beer from this brewery, one of the best around if you ask me. Wild rice is a grass which could be the only reason to use this in the brewing process or perhaps the long cooking time. A distinctive nutty, woods flavor comes out in this lager. A little more full bodied than normal. Clean, crisp, well done beer. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2006 Updated: Jun 21, 2006Late summer 2005 bottle from StewardofGondor, consumed on 5/31/06. Rosy hued orange-golden, with a fair amount of sediment left on the bottom. Head is off-white, initially large and recedes to partial cover and ring. Highly fruity nose suggests raspberry essence, light pink grapefruit and sweet, nutty almond paste, all combining to give a sweet, yet not too sweet aroma, that is full and soft. Apples and cherries are lightly noted, with warm, gooey brown bread-like maltiness that further comforts. In the mouth, sweet caramel is immediately tempered by hop bitterness (light nectarines, floral notes and some orange). Brash raspberries (must be a yeast ester?) hang on the finish, with a crisp, natural carbonation that clears the sweet malt. Mushy at times, but fresh on draught, I have no doubt this would be mindblowing. Comfortable, soft, nearly creamy texture with low filtration. Serve it cool, as it is most crisp there, but allow it to breath so that the hops really come out and the malts lose their chewy, mushy sweetness. kickback98 (6), Madison, Wisconsin, USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 21, 2006 Bottle from the brewery’s shop. Depp golden color with an armoe that is hard to describe. This beer reminds me of the Japanse lagers. Tasty, smooth lager but nothing extraordinary.
