Aroma has sort of a Euro-lager sweetness, light honey, flowery hops, and pepper. Pours a golden orange with a minimal white head that never obtains more the a white ring. Lightly sweet with honey and apple up front with a light flowery bitterness a nutty finish. Honey comes on a little stronger in the finish and lingers slightly into the aftertaste. Not the most exciting beer there is, but this seems to work for me for some reason. Maybe it just caught me at the right time. Won’t rate well on individual categories alone but a beer that’s greater than the sum of it’s parts. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2005 Pours dark golden with minimal head. Lots of sweet malt up front with some nuttiness I can’t pinpoint, maybe almond. Decent initial flavor much like the aroma, just fades to nothing quickly. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 26, 2005 Copper colored body under a small and weak off-white head. The aroma had hops and a nutty hint. Some sweetness, malt. Medium body, smooth. The flavor was uninspired. Blend of malt with some spice and caramel. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Big thanks to Duane. Poured a golden red, with a huge creamy head. Nose sweet and fruity. Very well carbinated, sweet taste that falls flat at the end, which is strange for the amount of carbination. Thanks Duane. jcr (1184), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2005 Summertime. Summer beer. The back porch. 87 degrees and humid. Sitting in front of me is a pale yellow leaning toward copper beer that poured and tasted heavier than expected — nuts, grain and a touch of sweetness. Light on the aroma. Nice carbonation with each sip which fits well with 87 degrees and humid. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Wisconsin rating #100 (out of 1462) Capital always advertises as brewing German style beers. I’m not sure which one includes wild rice... but I guess that’s why we have it listed as a"Spice/Herb/Vegetable" beer. It’s the color of a dull penny with a white halo in lieu of a head. It’s got a nutty, mildly sweet malt aroma. Nice and spritzy in the mouth, the flavor is a puzzlement. It’s nutty & malty with a bit of apple/pear fruitiness and a shaking of pepper. The herbal hop flavor, only mildly bitter, finally comes out in the finish. I’ve tried it, and that’s enough for me.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Pours a medium gold yellow color, small fizzy white head. Starchy aroma, probably the rice. Floral and spicy hop flavors complements muted malt and a starchy, slightly husky character. Finish is crisp and unexciting. Mouthfeel is light and smooth.
