Floral and spicy hop flavors complements muted malt and a starchy, slightly husky character. Finish is crisp and unexciting. Mouthfeel is light and smooth. Gmku (255), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Bizarre. FIzzy and watery, not particulary flavorful. What is this exactly? Capital generally does great things, but I’m not impressed with this one. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Earthy, crystal malty, noble hoppy aroma, light amber with a nice slightly sticky head. Plenty of flavor, slightly husky, nutty. Very pleasant and well made. csbosox (1085), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2005 12 oz bottle. Tasted from the fridge at 37° in my NB worthy glass. Thanks to Heemer77 for this rare beer. The beer is golden orange with a smallish off white head. The aroma is crisp, strawlike, with a bit of character. The tasty is nutty, at first, the mid taste is malt, then come the hops with a mild, brief bitterness, and a nutty, wild rice flavor finishes it out. The mouthfeel is pretty good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2005 Pale yellow pour with a healthy ivory head. The aroma is malty and crisp - noting bread, toasted almond, vegetable and some earthiness. This brew is surprisingly full bodied, rounded and complex. Fresh baked bread and sweet malt blend nicely and leave a clean finish. BBB63 (4274), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2005 Bottle from Duane: Pour a rich golden hue with a fading fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of noble hops, vegetable, light apple, bready malt, and a hint of honey. Smells like an amped up micro. The taste is pretty straightforward with mild bitterness followed by an equal amount of sweet malts with just a touch of fruit and pepper. The feel is noncommittal, sort of just there. It is heavier than a micro lager but not very crisp. Okay, something my Dad would enjoy yet didn’t cause me to bolt to the hills either. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2005 Bottle. Nose smells like sweet wet cardboard. Taste-bitter, husky, earthy, sod, and cereal. Very nutty and full. Not bad and fairly enjoyable. Overall I really like what they have done here. Kevin (1920), Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2005 pours a light yellow with a bit of gold when held to the light and a fat white head that shrinks to a respectable ring soon enough. straw earthy nose with some raspberry honey notes. taste is pecans and muddy hay. lingering nut flavor that isn’t bad. i was expecting something odd with this one that i would probably not like, but this is an enjoyable beer with a good taste. thanks for the trade, heemer.
