| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2005 Burnished amber colour. Slightly sweaty, caramelly aroma. Light and lively character, with the slight nuttiness from the wild rice. Mild overall, but subtley characterful and individualistic. CaptainCougar (5517), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2005 Pours a clear, lightly effervescent golden with a thin, short-lived white head. Has an earthy vegetable, lager yeasty aroma with touches of sweet caramel, all nicely balanced. Body starts with some grainy maltiness and turns more dry, and well-carbonated toward a crisp, bittersweet finish. This is a nicely balanced, smooth drinking German style lager, but nothing exceptional. hopscotch (5500), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Notes of orange blossom honey, diacetyl, orange and lemon peel, pale mash and white tea meld to create a unique aroma. The flavor is mostly sweet and fruity with just a hint of earthy hops. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. Short, crisp, lightly sweet finish. Cheers to ughsmash for providing the bottle! Cornfield (4952), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

I’m not sure which one includes wild rice... but I guess that’s why we have it listed as a"Spice/Herb/Vegetable" beer. It’s the color of a dull penny with a white halo in lieu of a head. It’s got a nutty, mildly sweet malt aroma. Nice and spritzy in the mouth, the flavor is a puzzlement. It’s nutty & malty with a bit of apple/pear fruitiness and a shaking of pepper. The herbal hop flavor, only mildly bitter, finally comes out in the finish. I’ve tried it, and that’s enough for me.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2005 12 oz bottle, from Steve’s Liquors on Mineral Point Road, Madison WI (Dec 2005). Minimal white head tops the translucent amber body....bit malty, lightly herbal nose, little sweetness except that mixed with burning caramel....somewhat watery mouthfeel, light carbonation, a bit vinous and with more of an alcohol hint than I’d expected...lightly sour-bitter to finish....not enough character in the flavor after a fine, complex aroma, a bit of a disappointment for a beer that I’d wanted for years. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2005 Bottle from the batch in 2005. Poured with a very dark gold, almost amber color. The aroma is rich corn and green beans. There is also a hint of brown sugar. The taste is sweet walnuts and some carrots. The mouthfeel is relatively full. A very nice lager with some character. Bravo to Capital for making something different.
