Off-white head that mostly diminished. Light, not overpowering taste, slightly hoppy. Very creamy texture, nice, light finish, not overly carbonated, mild, not bitter. Rich amber brown body with a thick foamy head that eventually subsided into a thin film Smells of peat moss, wheat, sour cherries and freshly cut grass wafted up from the glass. Once I was ready, I took a sip to find a mixture of sour cherries, smoke, sweetness and malt. A little on the thin side, but very smooth and drinkable. The nice dry finish leaves behind a trace of nuttiness that plays on the toungue and throat. Enjoyable and easy to drink - Capital has created another winner here. There is a good amount of malt sweetness and some citrus/pine hops. It’s amazing how good hops can be after drinking a few pilseners. Right now it’s hitting the spot so I dig it. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2006 Bottle: Fiery amber, clear, moderate to small off-white sudsy head, spotty lacing, very light carbonation. Rich malty nose, very subtle pale fruit skin. Much the same on the tongue. Clean, but flavor drops off quickly. Soft for a Vienna. Body and mouthfeel, while average, border on the watery side. Light malt character on the finish. Semi-sweet as well. Clean, decent, but too light of an example.

Aroma of caramel and maybe a whiff of iced tea. Rich & smoooove. Mostly sweet, with a note of black pepper. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Benchmark amber color with a significant white head. Citrus Malt aroma. Buttery, yet very smooth with a medium palate. If this were my hometown local bottled beer, I would drink it as often as I did Gerst in Nashvegas. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

Your basic amber, a little bit more grainy than the average of the variety.. easily obtainable in the state, especially in the milwaukee area. personally i enjoyed it on tap at Pizza Shuttle on Milwaukee’s east side. Nice aroma, clean finish. Highly reccomended for fans of the variety.
