Commercial Description:
Loosely based on Vienna style, Wisconsin Amber is a rich, malty lager balanced out with mild hop bittering and enticing hop flavor. Very fulfilling. Very drinkable.

Pours a nice amber color. Nice sweet malt nose with a hint of hops. Taste is caramel, with mild hops and a touch of fruit.

Pretty user friendly beer. Your basic amber, a little bit more grainy than the average of the variety.. easily obtainable in the state, especially in the milwaukee area. personally i enjoyed it on tap at Pizza Shuttle on Milwaukee’s east side. Nice aroma, clean finish. Highly reccomended for fans of the variety.

From a 12 oz. long neck twist cap brown bottle with a date stamped on shoulder on bottle, 2585, translates to 15/Sept/05. Made a decent appearance, poured a clear amber with a small foamy white head that reduced to a fine lacing. Had a sweet caramel-ish malty and fruity aroma with whiffs of a pear yeastiness. Moderate carbonation and a slick light bodied mouth feel, average drinkability. Had a sweet bready taste with some pear/plum flavors, a mild fruity hop bitterness in the middle and a semi-dry, crisp grainy finish with a lingering metallic aftertaste.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and slightly hazy amber color with a huge (4.5 finger) off white head. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit, some spices and light caramel. Contrary to the description, I found the aromas to be on the hoppy side. Tastes of caramel, grain and some oranges. Faint hops in the taste vs. the aroma. Thinner body.

Draught at Isabella’s in Dubuque, IA. Clear amber color with thin white head. Spicy nose with some grassy hops in the background. Caramel flavor is nicely balanced with slight hop bitterness. Pleasant grainy aftertaste.

A medium orange/copper, very clear, with a nice starting-head, reducing to a small, creamy film. Lemon, nutmeg & other spices in aroma... my notes read "Märzen?", so I wasn’t too far off from "Vienna". Flavor started with sour malts which began to open up to caramel sweetness. HOWEVER, as I was starting to enjoy the flavor balance, my brother-in-law decided to "top me off" with a Goose Island Christmas Ale.

I am very proud of myself for getting this far in life without killing anyone. < src=http://www.ratebeer.com/images/smilies/9.gif&g />

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) Okay, this is comes across pretty much as your basic amber lager. It’s minimally sweet and lightly caramely, but mostly just a dry, grainy, lagerish flavor with a bit of hops for balance. Grainy aroma, lagerish, not sweet at all. Light-medium bodied, dry and clean on the palate. Deep orange-amber color, fully hazy, and topped by an inch of light-tan head. Retention is average, the head fading to a ring, and there are a few dots of lace on the glass. Wow, just not much to say about this one. Average as average could be.

Purchased brown 12 oz bottle at Armanetti’s liquor store in Libertyville, IL. Small off-white head of diminishing duration and good lacing. Hazy amber medium-bodied beer with heady fruity ester and caramel aroma. Some carbonation. Starts with a slightly sweet malty taste and finishes with dry hoppiness of average duration. Very enjoyable beer.
