There was no head, just a little residual lace. The aroma was malt heavy with just a hint of bread dough. Just enough hops to keep it balanced. It had the dark ’amber’ color. It also went down smooth. Highly recommended by me. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2005 Bottle: Amber/orange color with a medium off white head that lasted a bit. Aroma is a bit of caramel malt with a hint of grass and yeast. Flavor is bread and lightly sweet caramel malt with a hint of fresh hay in the finish. The flavors aren’t quite as pronounced as some of the top Viennas but this is still a very good beer. JMerritt (1321), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Dark amber in color with an off-white head that lasts about 3 seconds. Caramel, straw, and hay aroma. Pretty hefty caramel flavor lends a moderate sweetness, with a light roastiness and light bitterness. Bitterness is a tad more pronounced in the immediate aftertaste and is a little earthy. Moderately carbonated, with a nice, round mouthfeel. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2005 Had on tap at Noah’s Ark Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Pours a medium copper, good bubble action and a frothy off-white head. Aroma has a little bit of caramel to it with some fresh lake water accents. Hints of caramel in the flavor with some underlying nuttiness. Sweet, but not sickenly so. Clean, even mouthfeel. Overall, decent. Gmku (254), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
