Commercial Description:
Loosely based on Vienna style, Wisconsin Amber is a rich, malty lager balanced out with mild hop bittering and enticing hop flavor. Very fulfilling. Very drinkable.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-amber color with minimal head. Odd, awkward amber-caramel aroma. Hmm..Id have to assume this is old. Off pungent amber malt, maybe some nutty flavor in there too. Somewhat like Killians, somewhat like a macro Oktoberfest. Off bottle.

Light copper color with a light, foamy off white head. Sweet caramel aroma with a bit of hops. Mild malty body with a hint of caramel and a nutty but somewhat bitter finish.

Being from Middleton, and less than 5 minutes away from Capital Brewery makes this quite the local favorite. Perhaps it is the local hype that has caused a disappointment for me? For whatever reason, this is a solid beer, however it is not a great beer.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is some sweet malt with a plastic following. Flavor is again a nice malt with a little hop bitterness at the end. Nothing great but a decent enough amber ale.

12 oz bottle. Light and fairly unexciting aroma, but that’s not to say its bad, just nothing special, some caramel grain, cookies, and slight citrus. Again, this beer is an unexciting sight to see, almost no head on the pour, minor carbonation, fairly translucent, and dark pumpkin orange in color. Nothing too crazy as far as flavor goes either, but a nice combo of the basic aromas noted in the taste as well (nutty caramel, cookie malt, lager malt, and zesty citrus), but a little more bitter than expected, especially in the finish. Also, there was a crisp and good overall feel. I didn’t not enjoy this one, but i also could easily have drank this beer and not really remembered much about it after if i wasn’t paying attention. So i’d say it was just pretty ok.

Got a six pack for Christmas, a very good beer. you get the nice hops bitterness, yet its still a little sweet. A nice drinkable beer that makes the palate dance. The aftertaste was also very good.

Bottle. Sligh floral hops in the nose with a rich malty backbone. Crystal clear amber with a moderate off-white head that settles in to a thin ring of foam that stays with the beer. No lasting lacing. Slightly bitter malty brew with a malty body with caramelly notes and full mouthfeel with a nice active carbonation. Slight hops evident in the finish adding a slight spicy edge to the beer. Not bad.
